Otter Posted March 23, 2011 Report Share Posted March 23, 2011 well i guess i ben out half a dozen times or so now. only tried once in the salt last week, farted around some bridges. we have a bunch apparently. nothin doin, i didnt see all this spearing people are talking about or any signs of life. threw jig and some plugs. not a sniff no love ben out freshwater with my small partners for the last couple weeks and big boy fishin once with dad for his birthday. we forgot the seats, had to drive an hour home and back. got a few fish, nothing to write home about but he got a good one. fish wasnt 18 inch but so round, so fully packed went 4.3 pounds on the digital tally for the year as follows crappy (2 slabs, 1 smallish) pickerl 1 tent spike 1 horsekoq bass a few, none large except the gotoff perch 2 poich party turtles 2 grumpy gus turtle 1 yup, its snowin in march, so what are YOU catchin confirmed problematic Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am going to replace the second leaf spring on my trailer this weekend and then hit the Passaic again for some more smallies. Been out quite a few times. hit one small pond quite a number of times that is still holding some of those big winter stocked trout, almost caught a pickeral about 6 inches but he jumped off. It was fun watching salamanders come up for air in crystal clear water only to get raped by a bass or pick. 4 Bass and 6 Picks total. Think I might try for pike this weekend. But the creek, pronounced "krik" in these parts, that you can barely see from mid left through top center has been giving up some monster chubs on really small bead heads.
