View Post1-Is potable water available?drool.gif

I don't remember seeing any, but I pack mine in.

2-alcohol allowed?beers.gif

Not officially, but as long as we're cool about it, the rangers leave us alone.

3-Heard it's windy, how rough does it get?thumbd.gif

Can get pretty rough. Last years was on/off rough with some small craft advisories. Very doable if you use common sense.

4-Propane grill allowed?mad.gif

I saw others with them, so I think they might be OK.

5-Does anyone/can you fish thursday?confused.gif

Absolutely; lots of us fish on Thursday.

Thanks in advance.

See you there. smile.gif

Tap water is available at the various Ranger stations. I wouldn't drink it. Bring your own.

The consumption of alcohol is allowed on Floyd Bennett Field within reason. Bring cans, no glass containers. If you bring glass pour your drink in a cup.

As a general rule, charcoal barbecues only allowed in designated areas, propane tanks not allowed unless by permit, just be discreet and you will be fine.

Lastly, fish till your hearts content Thurs-Sun.

See you there, James

View Post...and a couple more:

-Can we set up camp on Thursday?

Yes

-Open fires allowed?

No, but a discreet charcoal grill was fine last year.

Hey Cheech

Just to let you know there ore no showers/or real toilets, just porta-johns/outhouses (and they do get ripe cwm31.gif). Be sure to bring some kind of wipes or plenty of water to cleanup with. Otherwise fish will not be the only thing that stinks! HappyWave.gif Last year there was water from a fire hydrant that could be used to wash down your gear but do not drink it. I used a 3 gallon garden sprayer to clean my gear. But Jbay is one great time. Hope to see you there! HappyWave.gif
