Daughter of a fisherman
Then we had better eradicate all violent video games That would be fine with me. What the f is the purpose of that ****? Really?? Can't you find something a little more worthwhile to do with your time? DaveCap
what if the video game was free and open to all over he internet and the point was to shoot and kill images of actual people? Ah, the old "what if" What if the Palin people didn't use that verbage or the target images on the site? Would this not have happened?
OPE
I don't like the woman politically, I think she's a negative for her party. Saw nothing wrong with the add though, what whimps we have become. I agree. "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." fishnmagician
I think most SANE people have come out against the fringes of the Tea party movement, their cries for revolution, and the violent imagery they use. Sane people recognize what message INSANE people are getting, and that such people believe they ARE in fact being urged to take out the political opposition by whatever means are necessary. If Palin didn't think there was ANYTHING wrong with the ad, then she shouldn't pull it, IF she sees enough connection between the shooting and the ad, to prompt her to take it down out of "respect" then maybe she should have had the good judgement not to put it up to begin with. tone down the violent rhetoric. bunker86
Do you think they advocated shooting these individuals or anyone for thst matter? Do you blame her for the shooting? I don't. But her tatics aren't exactly responsible for a so called politician. They're aimed at the easily excitable and some what dumb. And let's not forget that idiot sharron angle. FBI should pickup that b***h for questioning. That would be a step, to stop, this trend of radicalism in elections. But, maybe this attack, wasn't policital. Gotcow?
^^ Just like when President Obama tells his supporters to get in peoples faces when they disagree with his ideas. Funny how this is only a problem when it comes from the right.
mlhm5
Do you think they advocated shooting these individuals or anyone for thst matter? Do you blame her for the shooting? Anyone who listens to the relentless liberal-bashing on right wing radio and Fox will already know that the level of vitriol and derision directed at the left will inevitably provoke a few unbalanced individuals to act out. The meaning of Palin's imagery is pretty clear. The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard, and the shallow end is much too large. NS Mike D
^^ Just like when President Obama tells his supporters to get in peoples faces when they disagree with his ideas. Funny how this is only a problem when it comes from the right. actually, it was the left that pointed out they are both political rhetoric, and it was the right who said but but but obama, keep track of the partisanship please "... let it go - lets move forward." lichum
Political rhetoric is very mild these days by historical standards. The vast majority of Americans don't know this. "Who is John Galt?" Who? You?
mlhm5
actually, it was the left that pointed out they are both political rhetoric, and it was the right who said but but but obama, keep track of the partisanship please Many conservative leaders, activists, and media figures have made a habit of trying to delegitimize liberal opponents. Not just arguing against their opponents, but doing everything possible to turn them into enemies of America. Sharon Angle suggested that liberal members of congress should be subject to "second amendment remedies." On Fox you can routinely hear the words "treason" and "traitor," and Obama isn't just a big-government liberal, he's a socialist who wants to impose tyranny and is also an impostor (not born in the USA.) This hostile rhetoric has become standard issue on the right, encouraged and celebrated on Fox ,while Republican leaders have failed to criticize it. The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard, and the shallow end is much too large.
eddy
this was discussed in here a while ago the congresswoman who was just shot used to have a palin sponsored bullseye dialed in over her district- one of twenty people were told to "take aim" on a palin spokesperson denied that these bulls-eyes were meant to represent rifle scope crosshairs in any way who are they kidding? and now it's gone way to go, you stupid **** Dogboy? Mind if I ask you a bunch of questions? See if we can get something actually accomplished today? "Ok, Eddy you were right" - minivin5 "Oddly enough, Eddy is right fairly often"- TimS "Eddy is correct" - TomT "Say what you will about Eh-ddy but he actually does know a few things." - The Commish
agsurfr
Ads are designed to influence people. People were paid a lot of money to build that ad. Everything in an advertisement was placed there with a well thought out purpose with many people weighing in on it. Crosshairs seem pretty blunt to me. What are you conveying? If your intent is non-violent, there are probably ways to get that point across. Nevertheless, pulling the ad seems like a smart (dare I say, sensitive) move despite the fact that it could be seen as a tacit admission of guilt. 2 cents SYNERGY. mlhm5
The media, NPR, ABC, CNN, FOX, etc. will not be demanding of right wing Republicans that they denounce and condemn Sarah Palin and the hoard of official Republican candidates, office holders, their staffs and the professional members of the Republican Party who have endorsed Palin, Angle and any number of others AS THEY WERE ADVOCATING ASSASSINATION in the most unambiguous language, with hardly a fig leaf to cover it.
