chinatown always has live eels in a basket at the fishmarkets near Canal.

Check out the south east corner of Walker and Baxter. Around the corner

across canal and mott should be another, maybe another on southside of Mulbery Canal too.

The eels you can get in chinatown are usually too big for my liking. I used to live there and could never find the size I wanted. I would ride my motorcycle out to Sheepshead bay in Brooklyn and go to Bernie's. You can also get them at Fisherman's Depot in Queens, and I'd bet you could get them on City Island too.

theyre the typical american eels guys use for bait?

I visit chinatown a few times a year and usually buy weird foods

down there. Never bought the eels but did cross my mind.smile.gif

Bigger bait, bigger fish.wink.gif

View PostBerrnies in sheepshead bay short walk from one of the orange lines B D or F not sure which one.

B or Q train will take you somewhat close, but its still a bit of a walk to bernies, especially if you plan on carrying a bucket of eels
