Abu 4500's

I traded for 2 abu 4500 reels one an old red flat end with chrome frame and bushings and a palming end with bearings. I know they're on the light side but was thinking about lineing them up witn 10 or 12 pound mono and using them for speckled trout off the piers. What do you guys think?, or should I save them for freshwater use. I have some inshore and catfish rods to put them on.

Thanks

Thanks for the comments guys. I magged the red flat sided reel but haven't tried it out yet. Think I will go with 10 lb. mono first and see how it works out.

Thanks

I magged the palming cup 4500 and took it to Lake Houston to try it out. I mounted it on a 7 ft rod and tied on a 1 oz sinker. It casted great, good distance and no fluff. I didn't bring any lighter weight to try but it looks like the reels are going to work great. ABU'S gotta love'em.
