Were you raised by wolves? You come off as a real ass 90% of the time. Just saying.

Try this one. " I do not believe that you are correct sir."

View PostCool find Joe.

My guess is gray snapper.

Maybe post in Florida forum.

Hard to be sure, but that was my guess too based on the distinct stripe through the eye. We seine em' up quite a bit in late Aug/Sept at Island Beach. Most of them are much smaller and all gray like the one in the video.

Yeah, my first reaction to his reply was "Ouch!"... Russ, no one wants to be B-slapped for offering an opinion.

Oh I am so sorry sir.

That my little munchkin is not a Sea Bass, that is a form of snapper.

View PostIt looks almost like some kind of Grunt.... You would find them down south

I'm with the Bomber on that one....there's over 100 different types of grunts...it just looks very "grunty". We see so many "what the heck were those fish...never saw them before" fish while diving during late summer and into the fall.

Grey snapper is a mangrove snapper, don't think they make it this far north, though we've had some odd catches of tropicals for a number of years now...even cobia are being caught regularly every summer. Go figure.
