the President was interviewed by a comic, John Stewart. Some say it is Stewart ginning for the Comedy Central promotional event he is doing in Washington Saturday, some say it is Obama's desire to make the Comedy Central event into some sort of Democrat rally. I think its both-I think both entities (Obama Administration AND Comedy Central angling for leverage).

What do you believe it was?

View PostIt was Obama speaking to his constituents. Comedy Central is their main source of news so he used it as his soap box.

how many times has he appeard on the Daily show?

the count was 13 back in May of 2008,

What does that have to do with it? Why would John McCain want to go on CC now? Why would CC want someone as insignificant as John McCain on?

Not sure what point you were attempting to make.

just pointing out that the way you characterized the show and audience might not be entirely accurate.

It seems Stewart gives time to Republicans,

and it seems Republicans find it advantageous to take the time.

now why would McCain waste all that time talking to Democrats?headscratch.gif

It's getting so any political coverage could be considered comedy.

It's not a party comment. The young voters to whom BOTH parties pander watch CC. They just take their message directly to them because they don't watch mainstream news.

Not everything HAS to be cloaked in partisanship, so there's no need to try to make it so.

is there anything other that what Little says,

a politcian appearing on a show is stumping

teh show is seeking ratings

it's promotional for both sides

what else would it be?

or did I mis undersatnd the point of this thread?

(and I think magish point is that it's common, in case there was so negative obama stuff being implied)
