Pay close attention to the required service size and pressure, as well as venting requirements. This can be a deal breaker. More expesive to bring in a larger line and run stainless vent. May be different now. I looked into it for a neighbor a few years ago.

I went with an electric one due to not being able to get a gas line and vent to where it had to be installed. Real good hot water, last forever which is where the problem arises. We stay in their forever! Our house is so small just the savings in space justifies it. We mounted it under our bathroom vanity. Wiring was pricy enough and the unit was around $1000. Heard it mentioned somewhere that you need to treat and clean them every few years but have not found out any more info
