I take random pics all the time, so I'm gonna post them here. Just for fun. Anyone can post pics here too, but the only rule is, they've got to be pics you've taken biggrin.gif

Here are two from yesterday. The clouds were amazing. I couldn't stop looking up. Good thing I wasn't driving...

Switched to Koi this year from sarassa comets and goldies. Their about 12" long now and growing fast. The ducks used to scare them now they swim along and nip at their feet! Offered the neighborhood kids money for frogs last spring and ended up with about 20 of them. Also have a red fox that visits on a regular basis525

A friend of mine had a nice Koi pond built last year.

Right after he stocked it he started missing fish. One or 2 a day. This went on for a few days.

One day he came home for lunch and found the culprit. There was a big Blue Heron standing on top of his pool bar staring down into the pond. He was just about to fly down and strike again.40.gif

He ended up put some netting around it.

Yes they have a great appetite. Not really afraid either. I have walked right up and then realize how long that beak is and decide to back up. We use a motion activated sprinkler, gets me all the timesmile.gif

I fish the beach at night in front of my place quite a bit and a Heron shows up routinely to fish along side of me. He will stay about 20 yards away. If I walk towards him he just scoots down the beach keeping about the same distance. Their eyesight is amazing. I have watched him on many a dark, moonless night nail fish in the surf-line. He has been hanging out for a couple of years now.
