I was told that I should pack my Penn 560 with extra grease-it would protect agaist the salt water and small sand impacts. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? Thoughts...thanks

More than just "extra" grease is needed. I think most pack the chamber near full of marine grade grease which can create a seal of sorts. It can also slow or bog down the movement and has the potential to hold water in if it does permeate somewhere. Packing with grease can be an effective way to protect against salt intrusion but it has to be done repeatedly and done the right way.

Please help! I am new to braid and I can't figure out what is the best knot to use to tie my terminal tackle. The improved clinch knot cost me two $5 bucktails...thanks in advance for your help.
