Crappy Cell Signal

Rate this topic

I live in a dead zone for most carriers.

I currently have a Yagi antenna installed on my place and hard wire my phone to it while I'm here so that I can get a signal.

I've been considering the addition of a wireless repeater but I am also weighing the use of the Verizon Wireless Network Extender. It is essentially a personal cell tower that uses a broadband connection for in home coverage.

Anyone using either of these?

I will soon be moving out of the main house and would rather not install another landline. The cell would be sufficient for my needs if only the signal were reliable.

Thanks,

J

We have one in my office. It works great. We are in the basement of a steel and concrete building. I ran the antenna half way up the stairs and we always have perfect signal.

It's only as good as your broadband connection.

If you put the repeater on the Yagi, it will work when the broadband is out.

(Plus, take cost into consideration)
