Hype on Loomis IMX Surf Rods

Been looking at the new Loomis IMX rods would like one but have no need for any of the models currently. This got me wondering, IMX is not really a new material. Loomis under Loomis worked with IMX for at least 5 years. During those years Loomis never used IMX for his surf rods, I wonder why? Loomis was a smart guy he had to think about it something had to happen to make him think twice.

sometimes companies have the technology for years before they actually release a product.. Maybe he didn't want to release all top of the line equipment at the same time for marketing reasons, or the surf rods were the last one they worked on. Only the company knows for sure

Loomis was always an industry leader in freshwater fishing. I'll bet that the IMX technology was not used in saltwater surf rods because they were not advanced in surf tackle at that point.

Looks lke they are ready now.

I think surf rods are a low volume product for Loomis- probably the last thing they devote attention to.
