Need recommendation for good rod builder in the San Francisco bay area

Hi everyone,

 

I have a separate thread on a Abu conolon rebuild that I want to have done. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good rod builder in the SF bay area who is good with vintage rods?

 

I found a guy on craigslist, named Anthony Sicre out of Vacaville CA but I couldn't find any good reviews or any info about the guy.

 

His number is 707 451 1349 (not a plug for this guy).

 

I would like to find a rod builder in the 510, 415, or 925 area code.

Kenny, ghostfish slayer, builds some very nice rods. I've seen his newer stuff as well as some of the stuff he's refurbished. All very nice. He is down in Santa Cruz though, but I think it would be worth your time.

 

Hi's tackle in SF, I think, does some rod building, or at least can point you in the right direction.

Check with Todd's Custom Rod Art in Benicia. His shop is 2 doors down from Benicia Bait & Tackle. Good guy. Really clean thread work and he's been building for a lot of years. Not sure vintage is his mainstay, but he won't be a stranger to old gear either.

 

Hi's has gotten away from rod building and supplies. They are just working through what's left in inventory.
