I've never seen so many people out trying to catch sharks. I guess someone let the cat out of the bag. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

been out a good amount of times. still have yet to do more than a few big doggies. the first week or so of august have always been my good times so not too stressed about it yet. there were at least nine people out chunking last night where i was. it's true, all of a sudden people realized you could do it.

I won't tell anybody to use a 2-3 foot piano wire leader to a 9/0, 10/0 hook with a nice chunk of bait and hold on!

Good Luck!

I also won't tell to use a bunker head!wink.gif

View Postanyone ever get them on pluggage?

You can get cow-nose rays on tins during the day time.

Sharkin ain't nothing new. Would you rather fluke?

Just clip those leaders as close to the hook as possible. Any line or leader break that goes beyond the length of the shark will doom that fish to a tail wrap after release.

You don't need cable or 7 strand. A single strand like Tooth Proof 240 will do.

Chunks will get you dogfish. Fully Rigged mackerel or Bunker improves your odds.

way too many smooth dogs this year.
