Montauk

Going out to Montauk tomorrow and thinking abuout playing golf at Montauk downs or going out on a fishing boat. Last summer I went on Lazybones and caught a bunch of blues. Great time. Can anyone suggest a boat or captain that they had a good experience with. Looking to go out for a half day sunday morning and catch stripers/blues.

I have always heard good things about the Viking.

I don't think there are are open party boats at this time that do half day stripers and blues. Last year there were a few that did jigging because of the broken up fluke season and some boats did not have the RSA permit.

I fished on the Masterpiece out of the Mtk Yacht Club marina a few times...good guys.

My and 3 of my buddies went on "Lets Go Fishin" last year and had a great day (limited out by 11ish). Its a 4 man boat that launches out of SIYC and I think it was 600 for the day (eels are extra).

Maybe call around to the company that bookks chartere sand see if you can hop on a split with someone.

Spent the 4th of July weekend out there and the Downs is hard to beat. Don't play from the black tee's, too long! Love that place. Go fishing at night, too damn hot for the fish anyway...
