Ok so i am think about going surf fishing in Assateague next week and ive never been there before but ive always heard such good things about it. I was hoping to down then and ctach a shark while surf fishing, anyone have and tips or ideas that make this possible for me like bait to use or rigs to use?

try searching the site for shark fishing the surf or google it. I would think it would be pretty much the same anywhere, a heaver, decent size hook, chunk of fish, and some weight during the evening or at night.

I've been using a fishfinder with a wire leader from the swivel to hook and a 150# rub leader about 3ft long to 50# rub leader. Been working good but the only shark I have caught on it was a 2.5 foot black tip(I think). I would probably use heavier stuff but I'm casting out so want to keep it simple.

Bait has been mostly bunker or squid, with the occasional king cut up if I catch one worth cutting up.
