Yesterday 86 degrees here on the Olympic Peninsula. Usually mid 60's.

Guess we are really becomining Californicated!!

Hotter Today, and I am pouring a batch of concrete instead of wading in the surf with a fishing rod.

Speaking of fruits and nuts I will be on the way to Napa next week. One stop over is a best western close to the Nut Tree at Vacaville.

89 in the shade this afternoon. Concrete pour is done, just finished up spreading a gallon of wood preservative on deck beams, so I got BBQ'd with Jasco Wood Treatment for Sauce.

I made it out to Copalis beach today. One surf perch but it was my first! Dense fog out there and only 58 when I hit the beach around 9:00 a.m. 93 degrees when I made it home to Tacoma.

Yea I was in Fairfield from 72 to 75, remember the jerky making summers!!

We would make a run to the coast on days off just to cool down.

Fished in the bays and Sacramento River for stripers, always wanted to fish the surf at Pacifica but never made it. Bought the 704 in my signature just for that, but it stayed in the box, spooled with Trilene but never used!!

not to tease you too much but the agricultural canals around vacaville have a pretty good bass (lm, not striper) fishery. a few years ago, some guy soaking clams in there (more up towards winters) for catfish found himself tied into a 17 lb brown trout (on clams!!).

sorry for the semi spot burn, but anyone eating any fish out of those waters will get what they deserve (they're ag canals off of putah creek and are filled with all of the chemicals and pesticides you'd expect).
