Staying with the in-laws in North Jersey next week.

MUST get out of the house for at least a day.

Looking to do a little surf casting at Sandy Hook while the wife sunbathes.

Other than staying away from the nude beachredface.gif , any suggestions as to where I should park for this my first trip?

Looks like quite a walk to the north rip?

Are bass still around or is it too warm and I should target bottom species?

Suggested lures or tactics would be great.

Thanks in advance.

The water has been pretty warm up North. I don't think you'll have much of a shot at stripers while anyone is able to sunbathe. That said, there's plenty of good fishing.

False hook (North Rip) is closed due to the damned birds

You might want to try the backside for fluke.
