Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed and are headed in exactly the right direction for our purposes. We can visualize much more government regulation and more government control of the corrupt and degenerate financial and industrial complex, which has been responsible for the economic ruin of our country. In this Obama political climate, the expansion of the public-sector unions' and selected private-sector unions' powers becomes a real possibility with a corresponding reduction of business management, business authority and business control of our society.Much the same can be said about passing a continuous stream of stimulus and Omnibus bills, and we sure need more, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment. We are thankful for this economic crisis.

With this President and in this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option where the Obama government controls all of health care and finally the lives of the working classes. At the same time, we can finally eliminate other enemies of the Obama administration. And from this point we can go even further in the years ahead. I will touch on this later

It is possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in tandem with large increases in government taxation of gasoline, electric consumption and natural gas usage through the Cap & Trade legislation. These green jobs can and should be aimed at those who have supported Obama in his rise to power not the private sector in general

With Obama we can permeate the public schools with messages that are aimed at providing the children with new insights as to the detriments of capitalism. Lesson plans should be provided which guide the instructors in the proper positioning of Obama as our leader, in the transformation of Obama's government and the changes that Obama has promised. We should tell our children that putting a new battery in a broken toy is not the answer...we want them to understand the need for a new toy.

The new conditions of struggle by the working classes are possible only - and I want to emphasize only - because we elected Obama and a Congress with pronounced progressive and left leaning currents.

Yes, full socialism is our objective; the complete takeover of all of the major industries in the United States by the government, and according to recent public opinion polls, this is increasingly attractive to the American people. Remember the redistribution of wealth by Obama is the tip of our spear.

As for our radicalism, we should be as radical as we need to be, as radical as reality allows us to be. And reality strongly suggests that our main task is to bring the weight of the working classes and especially the socially deprived to bear on the reform process with the aim of deepening its anti-business, anti-corporate, anti-capitalistic content and direction - less business control, more government control.

Let' us be aware that Obama has to keep a progressive coalition together for his long-term as well as immediate legislative agenda. Let's give Obama some space to change and to respond to pressures from below, while at the same time insuring that the working classes are rewarded by his redistribution of wealth in return for their support of his agenda.

The core of our struggle will turn primarily on the inclusion of the public option in Obama's health care bill so as to finally insure the elimination of the Right in terms of control of the working classes, the elimination of the American Medical Association, the pharmaceutical industry and, most importantly, of all private health insurance companies. This control by the government will provide for vast amounts of capital, which can then be redistributed back to the working classes as Obama sees fit.

Months ago I said that the economic downturn should be "L-shaped" rather than "V-shaped." In other words, the crisis begins with a steep decline in economic activity followed by very long period of economic stagnation. We hope this is the case in order to insure Obama can operate more effectively, and use this crisis to his advantage in the takeover of all of the major industries in this country.

Let us hope that this ("L-shaped downturn") is what will actually happen, thus making for a longer financial crisis and hence greater and more sustained government control and intervention. In my view this should take at least three forms:

First, a continuous stream of economic stimulus packages coupled with more public and government jobs and less private jobs.

Second, restructuring of our financial system by the Obama administration is imperative. The old economic model that rested on businesses, capitalism, economics, profit and loss, deregulation, capital outsourcing, and so forth, has to be replaced by a new model that expands the government control and ownership of the financial industry, controls all employee compensation, and restructures the productive base with major control by the unions

Finally, the economy has to be democratized with the power and control taken away from business and corporations. The wizards of Wall Street and those of the other major industries have failed miserably, in fact so miserably, that the economic decisions that affect the welfare of millions should no longer rest in the hands of these business and corporations, but should come directly from the merger of the Obama government utilizing a central planning apparatus

In the meantime, the struggle for immediate and greater number of public sector and government jobs should command our attention. Monies should not be made available to enhance private job offerings.President Obama has expressed a readiness to engage with our beloved friends that during the Bush years were considered mortal enemies - Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, and others.

In Iraq, the U.S. withdrawal plan is proceeding, with the first stage being withdrawal from Iraqi cities by July. President Obama has reiterated his intention to stick with the pullout deadlines. Even with the caveats about what U.S. forces might remain, this withdrawal is a major victory for the working classes

If not already obvious to you, then let me summarize:

(1) Obama's policy agenda and that of our organization are in perfect alignment: more government stimulus packages; more green jobs given to Obama supporters offset by increased energy taxation through Cap & Trade; more public sector and government jobs; more regulation and, in fact, the complete restructuring of the entire economy and capitalistic system that expands government control and ownership of every major financial, manufacturing and industrial segment ; full government controlled health care, with the public option being critical to any plan; union-friendly legislation creating greater union control of our society; cutting defense spending to trivial amounts; engaging and normalizing relations with our true friends and brothers: Hugo Chavez, the Castros, Kim Jung Il and the reigning mullah's of Iran; claiming victory in Iraq as their own.(2) Obama's political approach is also in perfect harmony with that of our organization. His method is to use both a social and economic crisis in creating senses of urgency coupled with speed thus preventing dissenters from being able to critique or even digest the socialist thrusts. Overall, Obama is doing well at achieving our goals under the current political circumstances. The Left should expect and demand even more immediate and radical changes. And of all things, the Left should not define the current struggle as one that arrays the people against President Obama. It should be clear that this is not Obama's form of Marxism. Rather Obama and the Progressives in general should take the offensive and compartmentalize, isolate and then demonize their enemies. This was the mantra of our friend and comrade Saul Alinksy and it continues to be effective. (3) We should expect and hope that the bad economy continues. Specifically, Obama should pray for an "L-shaped" recovery. This long period of economic stagnation will be a much better excuse for continued government intervention, and increased government control of our society. As our founder Lenin said, "the worse the better(4) And remember, Socialism, that is, the complete government take over of our society, corporate industries and financial system with the end-game being the complete redistribution of wealth is our objective.[/font]

I will end with this talk with a challenge for all of you. An Obama "Presidency For Life" should be our next objective. Although legal and constitutional barriers are present at the current time, Obama's use of an inherent crisis (economic, health, energy, etc.) will provide for a powerful leverage to preserve his position as our leader. Let us insure that we, the working classes, provide him with the support he needs both in the next election and beyond. Thank you
