I was about 3/4 of a mile from the Bourne Bridge, just by the tourist rest area, when something caught my eye slightly up form the hwy, on the edge of the tree line.

2 bucks, one very large, both still in velvet.wink.gif

The deer population in this area must really be exploding. Just in the last 2 weeks, I saw 2 dead does right on the same section of road. Also, I saw a doe just up the road from Halfway Gate a few weeks ago.

Took a pic a few mornings ago of a doe walking through the campsite next to mine.

There have been more than the usual number of deer sightings in BSP this year.

Word is that coyotes have been working the area across from BSP bordered by Nightingale Rd., and the areas east of 25 and north of 6. Thought is the 'yotes are pushing deer out of that cover and across Bourne Scenic Highway into BSP.

I've seen them swim in the waters west of the canal land cut and it wouldn't surprise me to learn they are swimming across the canal especially if the 'yotes are pressuring them.

I was running down the Falmouth bike path a couple weeks ago and I saw two does jumping and prancing through the cranberry bogs. I was in awe at how high they jumped.
