Most effective shape for spider weights

I lost 3 weights today due to some old braid on my friends reel snapping multiple times. So needless to say I have to make a new mold and melt some more lead. The design I use now is just a short fat cylinder with the legs coming out of the side. They work alright I suppose but my lines still drift most of the time. I've seen many different designs, anyone have any insight on which shapes are most effective at getting a good anchoring.

Are you using a shock leader? and you might want to check the rod guides for cracked or chipped ceramic insert.
