Robert Williams
Presidents shouldn't be required to have military experience. While it certainly doesn't hurt to know they had the character to serve in their younger years. And it's a plus that they felt service to their country was important long before they got into politics, executive officers, chief of which would be the President of the United States can develop in any number of different venues and career paths. You have to judge what they bring to the table as a complete package.
Knight771
Didn't read the whole tread but no, the Pres. does not have to have military experience. It would help in many cases, but it is not necessary. In lieu of military experience, I would almost rather see experience in leading and growing a major corporation. What I don't like are professional politicians and especially legislators. They have little or no leadership background and it often shows. Governors would be best.
