The behavior of wildlife latley

Ive noticed in the past few months that wildlife has become more "friendly".

On the ditch Ive herd that minks are going up to people begging. In my yard a bird wouldnt fly away when I approached, I actually fed it a bug from my hand. On the golf course (ya I golf, its like fishing, you need knoweldge, skill, and luck) and spotted a fisher cat which I have never seen before. I almost was able to walk up to a blue herrin and pat it on the head.

I might be a little kooky.gif but this seems to not be the norm.

Any others???

It's June. Deer will also start hanging around in people's yards in mid-day. Drives me nuts when everyone I know tells me about how they see deer in their yard "all the time", especially in June.

Then they wonder why I work so hard during deer season (and often come home empty handed) and "why don't I just hunt in their backyard? " "Oh, well, not their back yard of course.. blah blah"

Sorry.. I digress. It's cuz it's June smile.gif

Deer hate dogs. Period. If that doe didn't have a fawn, she would not even have been there in the first place. But she had her fawn, so it was shoot first, ask questions later.

That cat should have got it just on general principles.beatin.gif

That's a dog that wont chase deer now smile.gif

Then again... neither will the cat!

Ive seen does during late season bowhunts get into punching matches by standing on their hind legs... but nothing like the 4 leg combo of punches she was throwing! Makes me feel a little sorry for a coyote that tries to get a fawn... well ok, no it doesnt wink.gif Nature's tough as nails - on all sides.

That's normal behavior for a deer. Momma protecting her baby. Don't mess with the fawn.

The cat would have tore out the fawn's throat if it could managed it and the dog probably would have humped it. That's what they were born to do.
