Flathead River, MT

So as it turns out, my father and mother in law have purchased a cabin on the banks of the Flathead River in Hungry Horse Montana.

 

Did a little internet search and some google maps, it looks beautiful.

 

Anyone on the forum fished this river in the areas around Hungry Horse?

Yes. This area is beyond spectactular. The south fork of the Flathead/Great Bear Wilderness area is tops around here... wild wild area learn to raft and flyfish...you are about to enter another world. Huckleberry Pies and Glacier Park. All about backpacks down and goretex...flyrods, snowshoes and icefishing trips. Buy an inexpensive 5 weight and have thetime of your life.I can not explain....

Thanks. I'll look into this further. I believe the wife is planning a trip out next summer. "Pleeease brear fox, whatever you do, don't throw me into that briar patch. . ."
