clyde123
Ok so I'm going to be building a 10 foot plugging rod. I mainly fish jersey. Is this a tad big? Mainly for pencils and other heavier wood. Would you cut it down? Or how? And one more thing when you find the spine would you use the stiffer side or other side ? Thanks
SurffisherMike
if you spine the blank set it up to bend easier towards the fish. what kinda blank is it. if the blank has a curve to it that is pretty noticeable build withthe curve towards the fish. i wouldnt cut it unless i thought the tip was to soft or i had a real need for it to be shorter, i dont think new jersey is a reason. Saltheart
I wouldn't cut it. If you , use a dremel cut off wheel. Just rotate the rod as you slowly plunge in the blade. I build with the spine opposite the diraction the fish will be pulling. So inside the currve for a spinner and outside the curve for a conventional
