Storing Clams???

What is the best method for storing clams for future use??? Out of the shell and salted. Refrig or freezer?? Will freezing soften the bodies when thawed??

For years now I have just opened them up put the clam meats in a container add about 2 cups or so of kosher salt. Put the container in the refrigerator for a few hours, take it out and pour off the liquid and then put the clam meats in zip lock bags and freeze. They always stay firm, don't be afraid of adding too much kosher salt. Hope this helps I'm sure others will send you their recepies too this has always worked well for me.
