We are building a memorial bench for friends of ours who lost their son. We'd like to build it out of mahogany, but we're having trouble locating GOOD QUALITY in 5-6 planks.

Anyone have a lead? I thought given the wood knowledge of plug builders, that I'd ask here smile.gif

Concord Lumber on Concord has 5/4X6 Mahogany decking. It is really marante, a faster growing cousin of mahogany, but it is very nice and probably what you are thinking of when you say "mahogany"wink.gif

Guys, thanks! Really appreciate the feedback here and in PM - AWESOME!

We'll be building a second bench for the Boudreaus home and mahogany seems the way to go from a rot and bug perspective. Also, we are having part of it cut by router so the wood needs to be very hard.

Thanks again, don't know why I didn't think to come here until now!

There is a product out called Australian Timber Oil by Cabot stains, it is linseed oil based with UV inhibitors, comes in natural and a few different color stains. Excellent product if these benches will be outside, just follow directions on the can.
