I vacation in Inlet NY every summer in late August. 4th lake seems pretty shut down that time of year, I usually go to 5th to catch some bass or drive down to Raquette lake a few miles down the road and usually do well there. Raquette is a lake roughly 5 miles wide with like 99 miles of shore line. In the spring and fall from what I hear the lake trout fishing in 4th lake is good.

I've been fishing up there since I was a kid and fished the Pond(in Old Forge) 1st,2nd,3rd,4th and 5th Lake. All good fishing. SM, LM, Pike, Tiger Muskie, Land Locked Salmon, Lake Trout and sunnies/perch. Can"t go wrong with senkos. They sell live minnows @ pet shop in town and worms are sold everywhere. I usually troll for Pike/Muskie. 4th Lake is the largest lake. It get's a little busy on nice weekends but there are many coves you can duck into. Good Luck. Let me know if you need more info...
