Looking sharp Jim. Tell us about it. Where're you going to fish it. Why'd you pick the colors? We already know you can tie (and photograph). Let's hear what's behind it...

Ok...thoughts cwm40.gif

Thinking BF TUNA!

Hence the heavy hook...

will fish a 80-100lb flouro leader on my 18 weight. Will be able to strike and set said hook!

purple and orange seem to produce well in trolling spreads.

Tried to get 50/50 proportion of tentacles to mantel....for movement

(actually is a 2/3 mantel to 1/3 tentacle ratio in real life)

Wanted to be able to fish on a sinking line and be able to pulse the retreive....and hopefully have the mantel pulse.

Wanted to be able to hang it in a rip and impart action.... and hopefully get bit!

Like the sparkle in the Farrar blend.

Tried to incorporate the best from my own and others patterns. Stole some and invented some.... cwm13.gifwink.gif

(I worry about the orange color as a bluefish magnet) cwm31.gif

Try a couple of other colors, and bring them along. There is bound to be a color that the BF don't prefer, and will leave alone. But, Orange is a good color as squid patterns go. Let us know how you do, and which color works the best for you. Tight Lines.

Jim:

Very nice squid. I like the Design and it looks great. I think the large short shank hook will help you get it where you want it and will help in hook ups.
