Theyre of a pretty low quality, I'd say to spend around $100 on a used setup, like this you can get a better quality for the price. Of course, do research on different equipment for different needs.

How do you plan on fishing?

View PostAnyone have an opinion on the Shakespeare Tidewater and Alpha reels?

if ur only fishing off a pier for fish under 10 pounds on a few weekends a year

they will work

now if u plan on fishing until u die and even in heaven, i would suggest spending 150 on a rod and reel of quality for the money.

common reels considered for being good for the money(suggested by others)

daiwa BG

daiwa ss tournament

penn sargus- fairly new but rather positive feedback

shimano spheros

penn z series

rods

tica dolphin

tsunami airwave
