Any fix to pot lids?

Rate this topic

I have a few of these pot lids and the knob keeps coming off. The main problem is that the knob is plastic, and over time it pretty much melted and came off the screw.

Any glue or adhesive can put these back together?

If you can still thread the screw in then I'd get some Locktight or even fingernail polish will work and cover the threads and screw it back in.

If the threads are shot then I'd go get some type of new knob to put on top.

View PostHomies/Lowes for a Wood Cabinet Knob.

I was thinking that, but not sure it would hold up to a dishwasher or the steam from cooking.

Can you believe that Lowes does not have wooden knobs of any kind?

I got some ceramic knobs and JB weld the connection, lets see how long that lasts.

Your original knobs appear to the made of bakelite--good for not transferring heat but will check and crack over time. You can find replacements at a good home interior store such as Linen and Things--Crate and Barrell--and maybe Wally World.
