just got a daiwa sealine x 7' for casting from the boat and now need reel suggestions, i put an okuma epixor eb65 on it but it was way to heavy...just looking for an inexspensive fairly decent reel...the penn sargus looks nice but unsure of what size, theres A big jump between the 4000 and 5000

There's no decent inexpensive reel! You get whet you pay for. If you can afford a boat you should be able to afford a reel & also you'll need a better reel fishing from a boat. Your chances of catching a big fish is greater & I'm sure you'd hate to loose a a big fish on an "Inexpensive Reel"

I second the 360 slammer. Shimanos are nice, but for a good one your going to spend more. Put up a post in the bst section and see if someone has a used 360 slammer for you. I have stellas and still find myself useing the slammer often. I use 20lb braid on mine.

I'll second that... Or a shimano saros 4000. Close in price, but maybe a little nicer reel (better handle and you get a spare spool).
