St. Croix rod

Question, one of my favorite rods is a 7ft ML action spin rod. I've had the rod a few years and caught tons of fish on it. Now the reel seat has become loose and moves all around. Can I send it back to St. Croix or do I cut off the cork tape and re epoxy the seat?

If you saved the reciept(good practice)take it to the dealer and they might take the old one and give you one off the rack if you are lucky. If rod is an old friend call St. C about repairs. They are pretty good about it.

That's a pretty easy fix Springmansmile.gif

Here's what I would do - it probably voids the warranty. You can either sneak some epoxy in from the ends of the reel seat - you might have to remove or peel back some cork tape to do so, you might not have to, depends on the rod.

Basically, you need to get some fresh epoxy under the reel seat - how you do it is up to yousmile.gif

And before you do anything, ask Al Goldbergsmile.gif
