Capitalism at work

An economics professor at a local college was a firm believer in Capitalism. He wanted to pass on the importance of success in the Capitalist Society. He found the richest kid in the class, and proclaimed him to be an A student. Furthermore he informed the other students that they all worked for him. The chosen child would have reports written for him, and have access to everyone's test papers before submitting them. Because the kid came from wealth, nobody in the class would get a better grade than he did.

the students revolted and all of them dropped the class.

A teacher wanted to prove that communism was wonderful.

He took the class president out behind the gym and shot him in the head. Then he took all the money everyone had put barbed wire up all around the school. Those that sucked up to him got their own roll of toilet paper and everyone else had to make due sharing a single roll a month. Some of the students grumbled and they got locked in the boiler room until they died of dysentery. The Peoples's Imperial Ruler for Life came and went as he pleased and had a gold coffee cup and a Rolls Royce, which he said proved beyond any doubt that communism was better than capitalism.

Everyone else starved to death. The end.

that's not communism,

that's despotic rule under the name of communism.

a good analogy as to why Communism fails was posted under the guise of explaining why socialism fails.

Not a bad way to prove communism is wonderful at all. Demonstrate one of the few political conceptions worse than communism, and it looks great by comparison.

In terms of government, when has communism been anything less than despotic?

since they always seem to be created under an authoritiarian Government, it seems a bigger issue,

despotism seems the logical conclusion of a system where the people have no power.

Right authoritarian government is mandatory to effect communism. You can't have communism without authoritarian government. That is the intrinsic evil in Marxist doctrine. Power does not corrupt, power reveals what is already there.

The wealthy kid graduated, started building a manufacturing plant just like his daddy did and offered his exclassmates a job. They, of course, refused, saying why should we work when we're getting paid to stay home?

then I guess I am not a progressive....

a thought I have held for a long time.

I don't think Communism would ever work under ANY conditions.

Man did not evolve from a herd animal,

and we don't have the mentality required to make Communism successful.

in the governance of Kibbutz's in Isreal ?

where leadership is rotated and shared wink.gif

As FnM correctly pointed out, it is not the communist system per se that is at fault but the concentration of power - which in a capitalist system produces exactly the same abuses.

I would love love love the libertarians and ******* on here to visit true freemarket nations i've visited like India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Colombia where unless you are the lucky 0.01% you are nothing and never will be.

the problem being of course, they don't feel that they would be.
