I would consider buying this rod if your going to purchase one and make sure you get a warrentee through the store if possible. they do come with a 5 year warrentee from factory but you got to pay shipping and need the receipt or they go by the production date on rod then start deducting $10-20 / year after production date i beilieve. I'm telling you this because i've owned the 10' and 10'6" triumphs and loved how they fished but i broke both of the casting within the recommeded lure wieght ratings in under 3 months! I fish atleast 6 times a week during the season but keep good care of my gear. luckily my shop gives me a one year warrentee on everything and accepted the return but these are definetly week rods in my opinion if you want to put some a$$ into it. I used to buy all st croix but have since switched to Lamiglas and not broken any rods yet. good luck.
