Advice needed for BASS river fishing

Rate this topic

1 post in this topic

have had some minor success lately going after bass in the river behind my parents house. mostly on crankbaits and some on plastics. trouble is both are quite a pain to work when the water is blowing by.

hoping some of you pros can offer some pointers and variations for a river rookie. please keep in mind if i dont go extremely weedless i dont get my hook back. ever. dont think its a good place for fly fishing. loose mud with air pockets and steep drops

one thought is a bigger heavier topwater lure that i can cast across the river and pull back slowly.. ?

im adding some support to the little dock that was there when they bought house. putting in one or two fat trees for some quality cover... any suggestions for those would be great as well

thanks guys.
