Looking for an all purpose leader test(30-40-50lb).

Using for Tog, Summer Flounder, Blackfish etc

What would be an ALL AROUND test to tie my own rigs...

any thoughts.

thanks

OK, here goes - 40#. I can't imagine why an all around leader weight would be important. I change my leaders frequently and use what I consider appropriate for the conditions I am fishing. When the blues are around I go heavy, 60 or even 80#, but I often switch to wire. For bass I am generally at 30 or 40#. I go long and heavy when I fish bait or am fishing around rocks. For light plugging, I use 30# and often a short leader 20" or so.

Leader is not all that expensive. Get a spool (25-30yrds) of each - in 2 maybe 3 sizes.

If your targeting Blackfish (Tog) and Fluke, then 30# should be plenty. If your Toggin in very snaggy stuff then maybe 40#.
