First Fish From Kayak

9 posts in this topic

I was out this morning and caught my first fish, a rat sized striper of about 16", on a chartreuse and white clouser, what really got me hooked was a little later when I ventured out into the LI Sound off of Port Jefferson and was surrounded by tail slapping bass, even though I couldn't land one (hooked and lost 2) it was unreal being able to get so close to the fish and watching them splash around me without being disturbed by my presence (they must know I'm a lousy fisherman and could do them no harm).

Wonder if that was you I saw Sat. Was into quite a few Bass yesterday. 8 landed..... 3 keepers...... All returned. As stated they were tail slapping anything that failed to hit bottom fast enough. All caught on charlie graves squid. Let whatever lure you tossed hit bottom after getting slapped would yield you a Bass. Nice Saturday cut short due to weather.
