I fished Wednesday out of Newburyport and we did okay with fish up to 25lbs. all fish were taken on jigs with blue teasers being the favored color!! nothing on the bait except doggies.

Good Luck.

Well guys. The trip was successful as i caught my first cod. I ended the day with 3 keepers. My only regret was that we got out earlier as all of our fish were caught within th first two hours. Anyways im glad to say i have a nice bag of fillets in my freezer right now. Now to the cooking. Could anyone give me a good recipe for cooking coddrool.gif ? Thanks

Sure. Seeing as it is freshly caught cod I would tend to keep it real simple, coat it in butter and ground black pepper and grill it (best if you use some sort of grate sprayed with non stick stuff rather than on the grill). Then squeeze some lemon on it when you serve it.

Another great recipe is to crush a package of ritz crackers, melt some butter, and mix it all together. Then bake the cod with the cracker/butter combo on top. Very good but the crackers can overpower the cod a little.
