Should we close Gitmo?

Of course not. Makes no sense. This is all about Obama keeping a very stupid campaign promise. The American public overwhelmingly thinks it should remain as is. No one wants them in their home state anyway. And the rest of the world isn't willing to take in any of the scum currently housed there.

Just one more example proving that Obama is clueless.

I think the Muslim we called President wants to keep some prisoners there so he can constantly blame it on GW Bush (in the twisted minds of libs, keeping terrorists prisoner is a bad thing).

Yes. We are holding people in jail without trials, this is not the nation I signed on to be part of.

The guards should walk around the place and unlock the doors right now, and come back to Miami immediately.

If we have a beef with these people we should get them in a manner that preserves and protects liberty.

Close the prison keep the base. Try the prisoners, keep or release them as the court decides. As it is written in our rule book. Michael Vick went to jail for treating his dogs better.

I'll guarantee you thats the case! Obama doesn't want anything to do with this whole thing.

By the way, Spain AND Canada and Germany just told Obama to piss off with respect to help in Afganistan and Gitmo.

He told us people would like us better, yet they don't. WHY?

Because we are still going to carry a big stick no matter the rhetoric Obama likes to use. Our country was founded on strength, not compromise. If that pisses off some of the countries around the world (and the liberal weenies in our country), then so be it. Not everyone is going to like us and that's not changing. Get used to it.

Some of you people need to get a grip when it comes to military affairs. Perhaps you have spent far too much time in your little corporate cubicles planning the next focus group meeting to discuss diversity, self-esteem issues, and what have you.

If we close Gitmo, where do we send the terrorists/foreign fighters that are incarcerated there. Try to remember 9/11/01. These people are cut from the same cloth and will kill as many Americans as they can if released. And, who wants them in this country for the leftists to use as a rallying point for demonstrations. These are not uniformed fighters/soldiers and since when are people tried after being captured during a war while the fighting is still going on?

And for those who say this isn't what they signed on to be part of, don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way to Canada or France. Shame on you for belittling our nation and it's military on this 45th anniversary of the greatest sacrifice made by our military.

They don't want prisoners for the same reason we should not have them there. They don't have a legal precedent for taking them.

View Postsince when did wars become law enforcement actions? How many Germans/****/etc did we try during WWII?

Then call the Gitmo detainees POW's and keep them there until the war on terror is over. Either that or try them as criminals and execute the guilty. The notion that military tribunals are working is flawed. How many of those released, have gone on to rejoin AQ? Way too many.

prime example why the "war on terror" is a bunk term.

let me know when "terror" can surrender and/or sign a peace treaty.

Michael Vick killed dogs by drowning and electrocution and then he ate them. That's better than what we've done with the prisoners at Gitmo? Have you completely lost your mind? kooky.gif

And they're not dogs. Dogs are our friends. The prisoners at Gitmo are anything BUT our friends. They're not engaging in a legal war. They're not fighting for any given country. They aren't abiding by any rules or laws and human decency is of no concern to them. They want to kill your father, your mother, your wife and daughter and son. And they want to do it while you watch before they cut your head off with a dull knife so they can wave it proudly to a camera on a video they'll distribute around the world.
