Delaware Water Gap/ The Big D

6 posts in this topic

Guys,

I want to broaden my horizons. I am always taking the kids and wife to Round Valley and Spruce Run. Saw some nice pics of the DR. I always think people going down rapids when I think of the delaware river but I have seen some nice calm water pics and I am interested.

My boat is only 8HP 16ft. Would that be suitable? Could some point me in the right direction with a few areas or launch ramps I can look up. Also, do I need a PA license to fish there. I have NJ, of course.

Thanks in advance for your help. My kids would sure love to see a different scene and some different fish. We never caught a walleye, pike, pickerel before as well as a whole bunch of other fish.

Worthington State Forest is just awesome...the whole stretch of river near the campgrounds is calm and has great fishing...Just drift worms along the bottom and you'll come up with smallies, trout, lmb, catfish, basically everything...and a beautiful area too

Keep in mind the water levels. If your going soon there isn't a problem but the big ole' river can get quiet shallow in the warmer months.
