D Powell
We lost Chris Rogers today in a tragic auto accident. Surf caster, hunter, husband, father. Best known to most as Chris at Buck's Place on the way to Assateague. This not being perhaps the best venue...if you would like more information please email me. I just found out at 4:00 pm. No arrangements have been made as of this writing. Dave P. SOL #
TimS
Dave, I am saddened to hear of the loss of such a fine young man...a husband, a father, a hunter, a surfcaster, and no doubt a friend of yours. My heart goes out to his family as well as to you. We will put Chris' family and friends in our prayers that the Lord help you all through this no doubt tragic time. Bad things happen to good people...... TimS Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere. Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips.
Rumble Fish aka Poppy
Dave, I am in shock and lost for words... Our day-to-day lives hinge so much on the unexpected...never knowing when and never understanding why these things happen. I will pray for the repose of his soul tonight. Gil
When my parents called me and told me I couldn't believe it. My parents and grandparents have been friends with Shannon's family for 2 generations. Met Chris 2 years ago as he battled a 40# drum to the VA line...Critter Gitter has a pic of him and the fish in his alblum...spots all over the tail. He and Chris Vasquez were always kidding each other cause they had the 2 largest Stripers off the island last year...so sad...me and the wife just saw Shannon at the Expo the other week.....don't know what to say to her... Ditch Jigger
Words are always tough at a time like this--as a father of young kids, my heart goes out to those of Chris, and a grieving wife who now in addition to dealing with a husband's death, faces the daunting task of helping the children cope, and being a single parent. My prayers go out to them. "…if catching fish is your only objective, you are either new to the game or too narrowly focused on measurable results.” - D. PeterO
I never met Chris, but through this forum, the internet, and the technology we begin to take for granted, I feel a sense of loss because of something we share in common - fishing. I hope that somehow his family can gain some comfort from knowing that others share their sense of loss at this time.
