finished these the other day for lack of anything better to do. weather is crap! thought to try some exaggerated scale detailing.

all are 6" sinkers.

green one is a very slow sinker. blue one sinks medium fall, copper one sinks fast at a 45 degree down angle and swims on the fall with a slack line.

It would be awesome if you could show your technique on the scale work.

Definitely needs a stubby cigar on the first plug. biggrin.gif

How about a close up of the joints.

5 segments, cwm31.gif wow, nice work.

No other words are needed. If they swim half as good as they look what can I trade for one. I have a strong 14 year old boy that can do a lot of work. kidding, sort of. Nice stuff, do they swim as well as tghe blackfish? Scott

thought about a cigar but figured it would mess up the swimming action, maybe on the next one.

i make the lures with pvc. you can do a lot of detail by just making an impression with some kind of tool and since pvc is waterproof it won't swell and ruin the detail. also sanding is easy since there is no grain to worry about.

made this scale pattern with a flat tip screwdriver. just press the tip in to make the impression, turn 90 degrees and press again, repeat, repeat. you come out with a diamond shape. helps to draw a reference line to keep the first row straight.

here's a video of the green on in the tank.
