New Pup: Name suggestions?

I know this isn't really the forum for this, but I really don't know anyone over at the Tavern. Maybe you can help me out?

 

As some of you know.... we lost our Black Lab "Max" to lymphoma recently. We have now found another and will pick him up in North Carolina in a few weeks.

 

I'm looking for a few name suggestions. So far... we have Ruger and Gunner (Gunny) as possibles. Any suggestions? Sometimes it's just nice to take a break from political ramblings and talk about "regular" life. We are still all outdoorsman and fisherman...aren't we? I appreciate any and all name suggestions. Thanks.

When I get my next dog, I'm gonna name it Mr. Jones.

 

Why, I don't know. It just is something I want and feels better than Skippy. Plus you have Jones, and the formal Mr. Jones when he's bad It makes him a person.

 

Add a name you like better and think about the Mr. ... unless its a Ms, not the same flow IMHO.

I had "Read" as in George Read in mind.

 

Not too long, easy to get out and have the dog understand.

I have a buddy who names his Chessys after Dead Marine Generals. Smedly D. Butler, Chesty Puller and Kenny Houghton and Paul Van Ripper.

You could name him after a ASAR amphibious aircraft

 

Or you can jus call him DOG!
