Changing Hooks

I just changed quite a few of mine, assorted types like Hahn's, Gibbs & Xrap types, used 4X VMC's most 2/0 & a few 3/0 on the larger plugs.

Where the hooks were originally put on by cutting, most broke off when I tried to bend them to the side, where they have split rings, just slide them off (Split ring pliers make the job much easier).

On a few plugs where the hook spacing didn't allow the use of Wolverine Split rings I cut the hooks (carbide wheel in a Foredom) to avoid the extra length which might cause the 2 hooks to tangle. Since I had "time on my hands" I even put a bit of epoxy over the cut area to slow down rusting.

Hope this helps.

Not trying to be rude, but a quick use of the search functioncwm40.gif will turn up TONS of info on this very subject.

Try "Hook Replacement" as a search parameter.cwm15.gif

A Curmudgeon's reputation for malevolence is undeserved. They're neither warped nor evil at heart. They don't hate mankind, just mankind's absurdities.
