Water based, acrylic or latex

What is the best type of paint for plug building or does it matter? I assume any paint would work because I'll be sealing it all up in a final epoxy coat.

However, you know what happens when you assume!

It depends on how you are painting them. If you are using an airbrush, createx paint is the most commonly used. Many builders use rattle cans and do some amazing things with them. You should start out that way with some basic fishy colors-white, black, yellow, and other solid colors then progress from there.

View PostWhat kind of epoxy do you guys use? Sorry for the hijack..

OBX do a search on epoxy. You'll get a bunch of information on brands and types. Then start a thread and ask any question that wasn't covered.

View PostI am using an airbrush, so should i use createc water-base or acrylic?

Really depends on what you feel capable of using. Water base is more forgiving and easier to clean up but acrylic will if used properly give you a better cleaner look. I believe the acrlic will also cost a bit more.

What do I use? Water based.
