So, now that the floodgates are opened for Fetal Tissue research...

Now that the government has gone "all in" on Embryonic Fetal Tissue research. If they find a cure for anything using these cells, would you accept the treatment resulting from this cure if it were to save your life or the life of a loved one? Should they label these cures to allow people to make informed decisions (like they do for animal testing)?

 

The moral side of me says I wouldn't, but the other side says that when your kid or loved one is at risk you would do almost anything to help them. This seems more and more like taking a bite from the tree of knowledge...

Wouldn't it either be embryonic or fetal? How would it be both? Are they carving up fetuses for research or doing work with embryos, that really aren't much more than some cells? There's a bit of a distinction between the two.

This is what all the hand wringing and moralizing was over by the way.

The Blastocyst. Embryonic Stem Cells are harvested at about 3 to 5 days after conception. Somewhere between steps E. and F.

 

If you look real close you can see the tiny feet and hands.
