Surfcasting for Cod in northern Canada?

I've tried it for pollock in down-east Maine but didn't catch any last summer. Some of the local guys said the seals ate them all and drove off the ones they didn't. We did used to catch them mixed in with the macks when I was a kid but that was 20 years ago.

Used to catch pollack in the Surf at Race Point every April and May back in the 80's & early 90's. Damn I miss those days!!!

We would fillet them, make fish and chips and eat them all in a couple hours. Can't get fresher than that. Had a cod or two mixed in at times.

A kastmaster with a mackerel jig in front of it would bring in multiple fish with every cast. Mackerel would get mixed in at times too.
