what matters most relative to lures

If I had to pick just one attribute that to me is the most important I too would say profile. Take a look at a needlefish plug. Arguably one of the best producing plugs in mass use today. The thing is basically a stick. Not much if any movement but the profile brings the fish in.

Have you ever fished a bomber(probably the most widely used plug in the surf) during the day and retrieved it really slow like you would at night. The thing barely moves at all. Not much wobble. It's almost like a floating needlefish....

Of course the other attributes can make a difference(blitz fish and splashy surface plugs) but profile to me is the most important.

"and cast ability. ex. a yo-zuri crystal minnow is a great lure but ur limited on distance"

Get the new crystal minnow magnumicon14.gif 1.5oz and the fish in NJ love'm. Perfect profile too. I caught quit a few fish last year on them not even reeling. Just resting the arm for a sec and bam fish on... Tim is supposed to be carrying them in the SOL store at some point.
