Quick question: anyone out there have a review for the 12ft Tica Spin rod ?

This rod will primarily be used to throw clams and bunker from the open beach (weight 3-4oz plus bait)

Thanks, T

I have 2 of the 12' UEHA models for springtime bait and wait fishing. Rated 4 to 10 oz. they load nicely with 6 or more. I've thrown up to 10 + bait in stormy conditions. What is the rating on the one you're looking at? I ask because I'm not sure mine loads well with only 3 oz.

Thanks for your reply DB -

The one I'm looking at is the UEHA836502S (12ft) which is rated for 4-10oz (same rod) -

I've done searches on Tica rods, but the results were mixed -

The UEHA series is the one with the cheap guides that many have complained about. I've had no issues ( I have 3 UEHA's total) until I let my son and his friends borrow one of mine. Cost me $15 to have the tip and next guide down replaced because "somehow" the guide rings cracked and were cutting the line. mad.gif The Tica Dolphin series is a better rod with better guides, unfortunately the price reflects that.
